Given our road conditions, weather, PUVs, lawbreakers, law enforcers, traffic, mountains, hiways, dogs, cats, etc. ....
Which type of bike is best suited for our current Philippine road riding environment?

with all the given factors (mentioned above), i'll have to say, A 400cc MOTARD/DIRT BIKE. But, considering my height, i'd say, LOWERED 400cc MOTARD/DIRT BIKE.

For me, scooters are the most versatile, because of storage space (eg. you need not bring your helmet inside malls or house bec. of available compartment, you can carry water containers, sack of rice, bags of groceries, cooking gas tank, etc.). If one wants to use the tollways, maxi-scooters with 400cc displacements are also nice. Brake and throttle handling are also easy, feet can relax most of the time. More protection against rain due to leg postioning. Whew! Sa sobrang daming advantages, parang gusto ko na ulit mag-ride with my Shark hehehe.

The comfort in riding a scoot is a definite plus above the rest. No more changing gears & foot brakes so well rested ang lower extremities mo. The big storage space is practical. And the flat foot board can easily help you carry stuff. My daughter especially likes the back rest as she is very comfortable when she rides with me. And matulin din ang scoot... Kung ayaw nyo maniwala eh sundan nyo lang si Chippoy sa kanyang Shark... Hwow. Idol...

Definitely the Motard/Dirtbike.
Its very agile, has enough power for the metro traffic and can be used for all sorts of road conditions.

pinoy streets, standards like an S4 is my choice.... massive yet madali i-handle, power is there when you need it but can also be driven slow as the traffic dictates.
but i like sports and cruiser bikes still...

Comment: My scoots' and S4's sides(sidestand, centerstand, pipe) usually scratch the pavement while banking, very scary ordeal sometimes, power is a bit low especially because I like to keep my bikes stock. But otherwise, they do just fine for me.

Agree din ako dito, XR200 with motard set-up is almost perfect except that it doesn't look good with saddle bags. This is also a very good candidate for my future dream bike.

I agree, Super4s have very good ergonomics for long driving and ample power for the speed-itchy, maluwag din ang underseat storage for almost all needed tools and raingears. Very easy to maintain too. 20-24kms. per liter is almost as efficient as a Raider150.

For us mere mortals di sumasayad yan... nakow eh kung powered pa tormots mo eh fly fly up up and aweeyy ka na... (mahina pa mga motor mo sa tulin mo humataw??!??!!??!!) ;D

yesterday i saw one xr 200 in alabang sporting black rims and wide tires.ganda ,perfect for any road condition.but then again you can't ride it along SLEX,NLEX.dream bike na 'to-BMW F650GS or the F800GS.ganda even with saddle bags.pero balik muna tayo XR 200 mas madaling abutin na pangarap.

Kurakak! XR200s are more achievable, and since mataas naman ride height at very agile ubra na ito sa sub400 routes...who needs the expressways?! hehehe. But if we're not considering budget, the Ducati Hypermotard would be my choice...1100cc of devastatingly good looks...kahit ako gaganda este popogi!!!
