very nice sharing Elbert. i'm glad that you have accepted Christ and are continually nourishing your spirit with by consuming all that is Christ into your life.
as what we've discussed during bible study yesterday, our bodies are nothing if our spirit is not healthy. even if we feed our bodies and keep it healthy, it will still be a empty shell if our spirit is deprived of Jesus' nourishment. through prayer, faith and trust we will be able to energize our spirit and make our selves whole.
ingesting all that is Christ means also that we humble ourselves and let him take control. a lot of us have problems of being control freaks and trying to handle situations on our own. pride and fear is often one of the reasons why we do this. but if we do not have Jesus keep us in the right direction, we cannot stay on track. we are born sinners and will steer ourselves to sin no matter what.
nevertheless, we can be assured that because of Jesus' love for us, he died and offered himself as sacrifice for our wrongdoings and have paid the price so that we can be saved. this very thought puts tears in my eyes because it hurts me to know that everyday, everytime i commit sin, i hurt the only person that loves me so much, he suffered and died just so i can live. i know i am not worthy but still, the love of God is still made known to me and is there so i can recieve His grace and be cleansed. all i am asked to do is to accept him.
the first verse that talks about having no life if we do not eat His flesh and drink His blood has really struck me when i read it last sunday. during that time, i was so distracted and unfocused on the Lord that i was spiritually dry. i have not been living in him for the past few weeks even months because i was pursuing my earthly desires. i realized that during that time, i was Spritually Dead.
