HISTORY
The CHRISTIAN RIDERS’ MINISTRY (CRM) began as a fun ride by the members of a Caregroup of Alabang New Life Christian Center. Together with Pastor Bobby Perez and a Zone Leader of the Caregroup Ministry, these friends rode to Tagaytay on their bikes and had a journey of fun, fellowship and food. These humble beginnings led to the formation of the riding group…
The original group (Careleader Alfred Yap, Home Host Roli Gaston, and members Myles Ledesma & Orly Garcia with Pastor Bobby Perez) then invited more New Lifers with the same passion of loving God deeply and riding safely. The next group ride saw the group (now bigger in number) go to Caliraya Re-Creation Center to visit the Alabang New Life 2007 Breakthrough Youth Camp which was happening then. The route taken to Caliraya saw the group ride via the Eastern route of Antipolo-Teresa-Tanay-Famy-Paete-Caliraya (blue route) then back via Pagsanjan-Sta. Cruz-Victoria-Los Banos-Sta. Rosa-Alabang (red route).
Since then, the group has had many “small rides” to different venues with varied veteran and new riders with the group. One short ride to Tagaytay even had the spouses come along as backrides and one even drove her own Scooter.
EVOLUTION
CRM is now evolving and it sees itself in the long-term as an evangelistic arm & ministry for Alabang New Life Christian Center. The 5 original members are now actively inviting more riders who are members of New Life to be part of the group.
The primary aspiration is to eventually establish a New Life Riders’ Club which is duly recognized by the church leadership of Alabang New Life Christian Center.
Other objectives include, but are not limited to:
1. travel to the different satellite churches of New Life to:
a. encourage other riders to live for God and share His love
b. add their supply to the satellite church/es in varied ways;
2. have outreaches/missions in different areas;
3. have fun rides to:
a. promote fellowship amongst the Christian Riders
b. invite and evangelize to non-believers;
4. have inter-club rides with other clubs to share God’s love and promote safe riding; and,
5. use their motorcycles as a means to glorify God.
LOOKING AHEAD
In the future, as we strive to reach our primary and consequent goals, we are looking to have the following logo approved by the church leadership should they deem our cause to be in accordance with the church mission and vision. Until then, we will simply be collectively called the CHRISTIAN RIDERS MINISTRY.
RIDE ON!!!
